TRIP DESCRIPTION:            

Take a full day trip outside the city’s loudness for a countryside excursion to the Valley of Ourika and its waterfalls. The road trip takes about one hour to reach one of the most beautiful and preserved valleys in Morocco. Discover the Atlas Berber culture while hiking in the village of Setti Fatma and its seven waterfalls. It is a favorite weekend getaway for locals because of its beautiful landscapes and cool weather. One of the valleys of the High Atlas Mountains well-known for its fruit trees, tiny hamlets, riverside restaurants, green terraces on the Atlas peaks, villages on foothills and the 7 waterfalls that surround the village. Discover the region in a guided tour and take a moment to taste Moroccan Tajine in front of the river and feel free to relax and meditate in this marvelous place around the highest peaks of the Atlas Mountains.

ITINERARY:                          

The trip starts with a pick-up from your hotel / riad by an experienced driver as you head directly to the majestic Atlas Mountains. You will take the road along the way to the Valley of Ourika and enter through a succession of clinging mountain villages.

Stop to see wonderful landscapes full of vibrant colors as we move through the hillsides. Visit a local cooperative that extracts Argan Oil to witness the traditional process of making the Argan Oil and the original products of the cooperative.

Ourika Valley day trip from Marrakech will give you the chance to ride camels for half an hour deeper in the valley. (at your own expense)

Later on we will continue our tour to reach Setti Fatma, a favorite weekend destination for many Moroccans. It is the highly appreciated refuge for the cooler temperature, its beautiful streams and 7 waterfalls, beautiful cliffs and green valleys. The region is the best for hiking and breaking the city’s routine.

Throughout the Valley, besides its beautiful landscapes and its magnificent colors, the Ourika is full of curiosities to discover like the Berber Eco-museum that is located in the village of Tafza that exposes the Berber way of life and Culture through an impressive collection of photographs and objects such as carpets, clothing, jewelers, and pottery.

You can also visit the Bio-Aromatic Garden of Ourika in Douad Elhaddad, this Garden contains various essences, aromatic and botanic species. Otherwise you can hike around for your own pleasure and discover the region the way you desire.

Right before the sun comes down you join your driver have the ride back to Marrakech and drop you off at your hotel / riad.
