Hello from the tourist capital of the country, well-known as the Pearl of the South. Explore Marrakech, one of the Imperial Cities in Morocco, in a guided city tour to its major landmarks. Its medina, declared as World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985, awakens your senses with its colorful streets, chaotic crowd and scent of exotic spices unique of its own. Marrakech grew rapidly and established itself as a cultural, religious and trading center for the Maghreb and sub-Saharan Africa. It is home to the famous Jemaa El-Fnaa, the nation’s largest traditional market and one of the busiest and most visited squares in Africa and the world. The thriving souks make the city an open exposition to a variety of Berber, Arabic and African traditional handmade crafts that symbolizes the region and its history. The city also boasts of a peaceful and serene garden called the Majorelle Garden.

ITINERARY:
Our professional guide will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. Start your journey from the medina where souks offer various traditional products from leather slippers, Berber and African jewelries to the colorful carpets and aromatic spices.
The narrow streets of the medina take you all the way to Jemaa El-Fnaa Square where visitors from all over the world come to witness snake charmers, storytellers, wizards, henna artists and music performers turn the square into a festive ceremony.
Make your way to some of the major landmarks inside the medina.
Explore the beautiful Bahia Palace, which literally translates to “brilliance”. It was built in the late nineteenth century with the goal of being the most impressive palace of all time.
Visit the Saadian Tombs, a mausoleum packed full of beautiful decorative tombs dating back to the 1600’s and is the burial place of the Saadian Dynasty.
Marrakech is a travel photography dream. We will take you on incredible photo locations just waiting to be captured including the Koutoubia Mosque, Dar El Bacha and Madrasa Ben Youssef.
Lunch will be served in Dar Nejjarine, a purely Moroccan restaurant, which is in the heart of the old medina. (at your own expense)
In the afternoon, we will visit Majorelle Gardens, the botanical garden that is made by the famous painter and artist Jacques Majorelle. It took him about 40 years of passion and dedication to create this piece of art in nature. In 1980’s, it was purchased by the famous fashion designer, Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergie, who restored the property. You will also visit the Museum of Berber Arts, which showcases the Berber culture and traditions through art.
As a perfect end to your Full Day Tour of the Marrakech Medina, enjoy the sunset at one of the terraces over Jemma El-Fnaa Square. Have a cup of tea while you witness the locals transform the square into a huge night market.
Our guide will return you to your accommodation in Marrakech or leave you in the medina according to your preference.
